LAS VEGAS – CooperVision opened nominations here at Vision Expo West for its class of 2020 Best Practices, a program that recognizes optometric practices that advance the profession through innovation, industry leadership and providing a higher level of patient experience.

Forty practices, including those large, small, new, established, independent and corporate, have been honored over the past 4 years, the company said in a press release.

Best Practices reflects CooperVision’s belief that amidst significant change in market dynamics, prescribers remain the central element in ensuring the best outcomes for their patients,” the company said.

Michele Andrews, OD, senior director of professional and academic affairs, North America, CooperVision, said in the release that the honorees are brought together to exchange ideas and tackle challenges.

All U.S. optometry practices currently fitting contact lenses are eligible to apply, according to CooperVision. Applications will be accepted through Nov. 21, 2019. Honorees are brought together at an annual summit that provides a forum for education and collaboration on a variety of practice management and clinical practice topics. The company also announced that a Best Practices scholarship program will be introduced this year to provide third-year optometry students with the opportunity to attend the summit.

CooperVision also touted its environmentally friendly booth in the exhibit hall at Vision Expo West.

The company said in a press release that it has minimized environmental impact in many areas of its business to operate more sustainably, and the exhibit booth design features materials that are reusable, recyclable, energy-efficient and lightweight.
