Refac Optical Group announced the sale of Nationwide Vision to EyeCare Partners LLC after 6 years of expansion under Refac’s ownership.

“The relationship with Nationwide was mutually rewarding and successful for both companies ... I am excited as we move forward with the opportunities that lie ahead,” Adam Levy, president and CEO of Refac, said in the release. “The sale of Nationwide puts Refac in a better financial position, allowing us to focus solely on the growth of our U.S. vision business.”

According to the release, Nationwide’s sales increased by 45% and its footprint grew by 34%, from 64 stores in Arizona to 91 stores across Arizona, Florida, Nevada and North Dakota. After the sale of Nationwide Vision, U.S. Vision will take control of the five Nationwide Vision stores in Nevada and North Dakota.
