NEW ORLEANS – "Amniotic membranes have changed the way we provide treatment for ocular surface disorders like advanced ocular surface disease (OSD), corneal abrasions, corneal erosions and a plethora of other conditions," Walt Whitley MBA, OD, FAAO, said at SECO.
He said there are two types, cryopreserved and dehydrated, and one is good for wound healing and the other is good for wound coverage.
