LAS VEGAS – Rev360 announced that its RevolutionEHR customers can now order vision correction products directly through the electronic health records system.

Co-founder and CEO Scott Jens, OD, at a press conference here at Vision Expo West, explained that the RevolutionEHR software already contains patient details and prescription information. With RevAlliance, which integrates the proprietary order processing technology, Smartflow for Sight, the clinician or staff member need only press a button to place the order.

Jens referred to RevAlliance as a “technology alliance group.” He said that the alliance is made up of RevolutionEHR’s 6,000 doctor and 25,000 staff member users, tens of millions of the doctors’ patients and its product partners.

Currently, product partners include contact lens distributors OOGP, WVA and New Era; contact lens manufacturer, CooperVision; and spectacle lens companies Hoya, Zeiss and BP Digital.

Product pricing is not negotiated, Jens said. The companies can provide their usual discounts and rebates.

“Doctors should continue to enjoy purchasing discounts they already get from other groups,” Jens said. “This is not meant to usurp that value.”

Current RevolutionEHR users can join RevAlliance immediately for no charge, he added. – by Nancy Hemphill, ELS, FAAO
