Cube expands Vmax refraction station capabilities

LAS VEGAS – Vmax Vision Inc. launched the Cube, a technology intended for use in conjunction with the company’s VASR refraction system, here at Vision Expo West.
The Voice Activ Subjective Refractor (VASR) collects a patient’s wavefront refraction, visual acuity and subjective refraction in an office’s pre-test area, then the data is transmitted to the Cube, which is in the refraction lane.
The Cube is similar to the Vmax PSF Refractor in that it is fully integrated into the refracting lane, Vmax regional sales manager, Sherrelle Guiles, told Primary Care Optometry News.
The doctor can pick up where the technician left off and can work to make the refraction even better, she said.
With multiple Cubes, one VASR refraction station can support multiple lanes and multiple doctors in one practice, according to a company press release. The entire wavefront autorefraction and complete subjective exam can be completed in less than 4 minutes.
The Cube has a built-in touch screen control; the monitor is fully integrated into the system, resulting in a smaller footprint, Guiles said.
The system can be connected to electronic health records.
