BlephEx LLC announced that Fred Ellis has been appointed as the company’s new CEO.

“Ellis was specific in wanting to join a company that is committed to delivering new solutions that will make a real difference in the lives of dry eye patients,” James Rynerson, MD, founder and president of BlephEx, said in a press release from the company.

According to the release, Ellis brings more than 29 years of experience to this new position. In his time at Alcon Novartis, Ellis held many positions and rose through the ranks to eventually oversee a variety of commercial assignments. He demonstrated strong leadership skills as well as an understanding of how to develop lasting industry relationships. As CEO for BlephEx, he will work with eye care professionals to accelerate innovative treatments for dry eye and improve patient care.

“It is an honor to join such an incredible company that is reshaping dry eye treatment and improving the quality of life for patients around the world,” Ellis said in the release. “I look forward to working with eye care professionals to advance our shared mission and robust pipeline to achieve new breakthroughs in patient care.”
