Hill-Rom announced that its Welch Allyn Spot Vision Screener has been improved to better serve a greater range of patients.

The screener, originally designed to enhance early detection of amblyopic risk factors in children, now allows eye care professionals to measure and detect vision risk in patients with a 3-mm pupil, Hill-Rom said in a press release.

The Spot Vision Screener is a Wi-Fi enabled, handheld, portable device that clinicians can use to screen both eyes at once to detect vision issues.

“The updated Spot Vision Screener software will help us advance our efforts to prevent loss of sight across the pediatric, adult and adult-senior populations,” Alton Shader, president of Hill-Rom’s Front Line Care business, said in the release.
