NEW YORK – An effective way to combat disruptive technology from outside sources is to take advantage of your brick-and-mortar location within the community and offer special services such as vision therapy, school screenings or sports vision, according to Quy Nguyen, OD, here at Vision Expo East.

“When I worked in a medical practice we had a day where we could reach out to endocrinologists or MDs who saw a lot of diabetic patients to develop a referral source,” he said. “You can provide some value and you’re marketing yourself and being part of the community.”
