The demographics in the profession of optometry are transforming quickly and drastically, and Primary Care Optometry News has responded to these changes by rejuvenating its Editorial Board.

In its current admissions brochure, the State University of New York College of Optometry reports that 70% of its students are female. This trend is occurring throughout all schools and colleges of optometry, trickling into optometric practices and faculties ... and now making its way onto the PCON Editorial Board.

The new board members comprise both up-and-coming innovators as well as more established professionals. They are private practitioners, educators, researchers and lecturers. All of the new members were nominated by the original PCON Editorial Board to the PCON 300 list announced earlier this year.

Please join us in congratulating and supporting the newest members of the Primary Care Optometry News Editorial Board. – by Nancy Hemphill, ELS, FAAO
