The Brien Holden Vision Institute and mark’ennovy, a manufacturer of monthly contact lenses, have signed a global licensing agreement to create new silicone hydrogel contact lenses to address myopia control and presbyopia.

Half of the world’s population is predicted to be myopic by 2050, and, through this partnership, the companies hope to enable eye care professionals to prescribe contact lenses tailored to each individual’s needs, according to a press release from the Brien Holden Vision Institute (BHVI)

The partnership will combine BHVI’s extended-depth-of-focus design with mark’ennovy’s manufacturing capabilities.

“Since its inception in May 1997, mark’ennovy has always opted to differentiate itself form standardized mass manufacturing and marketing by catering to the more complex fields of astigmatism and presbyopia, with a constant tenaciousness of premium quality and service,” George Sarrouf, CEO and founder of mark’ennovy, said in the release. “Now with the Brien Holden Vision Institute backing us up, we are looking forward to achieving new milestones in visual correction for improving patients’ quality of life throughout its span.”

The date for the product launch will be announced soon, according to BHVI.
