The Alaska House of Representatives passed HB 103 by a vote of 31 to 7.

The bill was signed by the speaker and chief clerk and transmitted to the Senate for consideration.

Alaska’s Senate Bill 36 and House Bill 103 seek to grant the state’s board of optometry control of Alaskan optometrists’ scope of practice.

HB 103 was referred to the Finance Committee April 3. It was introduced Feb. 3 by Rep. Ivy Spohnholz and Rep. Sam Kito III.
