ABB Optical is merging the Diversified Buying Group and the ECP Network with Primary Eyecare Network.

Primary Eyecare Network (PEN) supports independent optometrists and will be the name for the merged group, ABB Optical said in a press release.

ECP Network offers independent eye care professionals support for their practice, and Diversified Buying Group provides products discounts. Both were acquired by ABB Optical in October 2016.

Members of the groups will have immediate access to PEN’s new educational resources, webinars and events.

“Combining these three powerhouses into one organization gives ABB the scale and capabilities to help independent optometrists compete more effectively and profitably in today's rapidly changing eye care marketplace,” Nan Meehan, ABB Optical Group vice president of eye wear, said in the release. “As a trusted business partner to eye care professionals, we continue to deliver the best services and programs to help them better serve their patients. We look forward to this merger leading to even greater success for our customers.”
