New punctal occlusion plug, eye hygiene product to launch

Oasis Medical announced the launch of two new products, a medium term punctal occlusion plug and pre-soaked eyelid and lash hygiene pads, according to a press release from the company.
The plug, called the Soft Plug Extended Duration 180, is a canalicular implantable plug available in three sizes and made of an absorbable polydioxanone material.
The cleansing pads are pre-soaked with the original Oasis hygiene and hydration formulation and come in a jar with or without tea tree oil. In a third-party study, 2 weeks of daily use of Oasis hydration products was associated with a 20% increase in moisture retention in the skin around the eye.
“Oasis continues to introduce products that can make a difference through a focus on patient care. When we align with an eye care provider we know that together our intentions are met,” Oasis President Craig Delgado said in the release.
