ATLANTA – SECO International elected Lynn Hammonds, OD, as its new president here at the annual SECO House of Delegates meeting.

Hammonds practices at EyeCare Associates in Hoover, Ala., according to a press release from the group. She was elected to the SECO International Executive Committee in 2013.

SECO installed additional officers: Emilio Balius, OD, is president-elect; J. Max Ernst, OD, is vice president; Max Raynor, OD, is treasurer; Richard Durocher, OD, is secretary; and Ted McElroy, OD, is immediate past president.

“I’m honored to serve SECO International in this capacity and continue the important, excellent work Dr. McElroy began,” Hammonds said in the release. “SECO 2017 is an excellent event, full of inspiring education sessions, cutting-edge products and technology, and fun-filled networking events.”

One hundred speakers presented more than 200 hours of continuing education, for optometrists and ophthalmic professionals at this year’s conference, according to SECO. This year’s meeting kicked off with the new MedPro360 program, which Primary Care Optometry News cosponsored.
