Bausch + Lomb introduces scleral contacts

Issue: February 2017

Bausch + Lomb announced that its Specialty Vision Products business has introduced the Zen RC Scleral Contact Lens.

The lens is specifically designed to fit normal corneas and features SmartCurve technology, a feature that simplifies the fitting process by giving eye care professionals (ECPs) the ability to modify to the desired parameters.

The Zen RC scleral lens can be customized to nearly any parameter. Toric peripheral curves, customized center thickness, flexure controlling profiles and front toric Rxs can also be ordered when needed.

“Initial feedback on Zen RC has been great, as ECPs have noted the lens’ enhanced design and found them easy to fit. We are excited to introduce Zen RC to more ECPs in the coming months, offering them a scleral lens option that gives them control over the lens parameters that will work best for their patients,” David Bland, director, Specialty Vision Products for Bausch + Lomb said in a company press release.
