Heated Eye Pad available for MGD, dry eye, blepharitis

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Heated Eye Pad from Digital Heat Corp. is “like putting on a pair of eyeglasses, as it conforms to the eyelids with minimal corneal pressure,” CEO John Devine said here at an American Academy of Optometry-sponsored press conference.

These “precision-designed eyelid heaters” are FDA approved “with three factors of improved heat treatment: heats only where needed, a more precise temperature and constant temperature over time,” Devine said.

The eye pad is intended for any condition for which a warm compress is indicated, including meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), dry eye, blepharitis, stye or chalazia, according to a company press release. – by Nancy Hemphill, ELS, FAAO
