Bio-Tissue launches Cliradex Light

BOSTON – Bio-Tissue Inc. introduced an addition to its Cliradex product line with a preservative-free, all-natural lid, lash and facial cleanser.

The company said in a press release issued here at Optometry’s Meeting that Cliradex Light is a mild foam formulation with a lower concentration of 4-terpineol than is found in Cliradex towelettes. It is used to alleviate symptoms of mild to moderate blepharitis, dry eye, ocular rosacea, meibomian gland dysfunction and other lid margin diseases.

The foam can be used as a follow-up treatment to the towelettes for regular maintenance of Demodex blepharitis, Bio-Tissue said.

Cliradex Light is “generally suited for daily hygiene to help improve ocular health and prevent disease,” Thomas G. Daniells, Bio-Tissue chief commercial officer, said in the release.

Cliradex Light comes in a can dispenser and can be applied two to three times a day, the release said. Meeting attendees were able to pre-order the product, which will be available by the fall. – by Nancy Hemphill, ELS, FAAO
