SEATTLE – Tony Succar, PhD, of the Envision Research Institute, explains how subjects with age-related macular degeneration participated in dichoptic training using the Space Invaders video game, here at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology meeting. They wore anaglyph glasses that allowed them to see the aliens with one eye and the spaceship with the other, forcing the eyes to work binocularly to play the game. Stereoacuity improved in all participants in the experimental group.
