SEATTLE – Patients with recurrent corneal erosion due to anterior basement membrane dystrophy experienced no recurrence after treatment with epithelial débridement and cryopreserved amniotic membrane, compared to an 80% recurrence rate with a bandage contact lens and hyperosmotics and a 40% recurrence rate with epithelial débridement and a bandage contact lens, according to Scott G. Hauswirth, OD, FAAO, here at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology meeting.
