Remote refracting pods close to launch
NEW YORK – MyVisionPod, a remote system containing an autorefractor and phoropter that will be located in retail establishments, is set to begin production in June, Hal Wilson, MyVisionPod president, told Primary Care Optometry News here at Vision Expo East.
Patients will interact with a live technician through a video screen, where the technician will educate the patient on the service provided and guide them through the refraction, and a clinician video will encourage a complete eye exam. The prescription will be reviewed by an optometrist or ophthalmologist and uploaded to an online account accessible by the patient.
