ATLANTA – SECO International welcomed more than 7,000 eye care professionals to its annual conference here and also hosted partner meetings before and after SECO 2016.
Stan M. Dickerson, OD, outgoing president of SECO, said in a statement released at the meeting that SECO presented nearly 250 continuing education courses for eye care professionals, with free attendance for optometry students and residents.
SECO University, an online continuing education program, provides opportunities to obtain credits beyond SECO 2016, throughout the year.
The organization also offers education around the world.
“Over the years, SECO has been able to promote and help with educational programs in such places as the United Kingdom, Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia, South Africa and the World Council of Optometry,” Dickerson said in the release.
Dickerson said the group also hosted meetings of the Armed Forces Optometric Society, the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and new partner, EnergEyes, a group of corporate-affiliated optometrists, in conjunction with SECO 2016.
