LAS VEGAS – QSpex announced the Sept. 10 launch of its Manhattan optical service center, which provides premium prescription eye wear within 4 hours, delivered to the eye care provider’s office or the patient’s location of choice.

QSpex President and CEO Brett Craig said during a press conference here at Vision Expo West that there are more than 100 authorized ECPs in New York, and the company plans to open 12 new locations around the world in 2016.

With the fast-traQ service, eye wear is delivered same day to the ECP. With QSpex Concierge, the eye wear is delivered to the patient, “any time, any place,” Craig said.

He noted that the concierges who deliver the eye wear are licensed opticians who have toolkits and can fit frames.

Craig also announced the Oct. 1 launch of QSpex blu-bloQ, “a proprietary monomer formulation that almost completely removes the high energy visible portion of the light spectrum, significantly reducing exposure of the eye to this potentially damaging light source,” as stated in a company press release.

QSpex has also entered into a strategic business relationship with Shanghai Conant Optical Ltd., Craig said.

“Under the new agreement, QSpex will continue to supplement its same-day range of products and services with Conant’s complementary range of products,” the company stated in a press release. “Together, they will develop, launch, market and operate an integrated model to deliver a unique and comprehensive same-day offering in addition to complementary optical lenses for a more extensive, bundled approach.” – by Nancy Hemphill, ELS, FAAO
