NEW YORK – QSpex announced it plans to launch a QSpex Optical Service Center in New York City this summer.
QSpex President and Chief Executive Officer Brett Craig said at a press conference here at Vision Expo East that the service center will provide premium eye wear within 4 hours, delivered to the doctor’s office or a location of the patient’s choice.
Craig explained that QSpex uses a “touchless transfer technology process that can produce uncut lenses in 30 minutes to finished eye wear within 1 hour.”
He said this consumer-centric model moves business back into communities.
“We believe we’re going to alter the optical industry by offering customized prescription eye wear fulfilled the same day through a QSpex-directed personalized concierge delivery and dispensing process,” Craig said, honoring the company’s tagline: better vision faster.
After the New York launch, the company plans to open more locations in the U.S. and globally later this year.
QSpex Vice President Danny Cruz said the New York facility will be built to accommodate only 100 eye care practitioners.
“We want to be sure we deliver to those ECPs,” he said.
The QSpex Fast-Traq service offers same-day fulfillment to ECPs via a QSpex-branded logistics fleet, according to a company press release.
With QSpex Concierge, “Glasses are made, and a licensed optician delivers them with a driver to a location of the customer’s choice,” Cruz said at the press conference.
Craig said the optical service center in Manhattan will serve 100 ECPs, “but at another location we might have more. Our service protocol is the limiting factor.
“We hope to open two facilities per month, and we plan to expand into Europe,” he added. – by Nancy Hemphill, ELS, FAAO
