NovaBay signs deal with AmerisourceBergen

NovaBay Pharmaceuticals Inc. has signed a distribution agreement with AmerisourceBergen for its daily lid hygiene product Avenova, the company announced in a recent press release.

The prescription cleaner will now be carried and distributed by Amerisource Bergen to U.S. independent and retail chain pharmacies, according to the agreement.

“Our agreement with AmerisourceBergen represents yet another major achievement in our commercial strategy,” Ron Najafi, PhD, chairman and CEO of NovaBay, said in the release. “Patients who can benefit from Avenova are now assured that the product will be available through almost every pharmacy in America.”

“While it’s early in the commercial launch, we are encouraged by the market initial acceptance of Avenova,” Glenn Moro, vice president of sales and marketing, said in the release. “We now have sales representatives in major markets across the country calling on top-prescribing optometrists and ophthalmologists. Our agreement with AmerisourceBergen will further increase the effectiveness of our sales team by making Avenova accessible to virtually every patient.”

As detailed in the release, NovaBay already has distribution agreements with McKession Corp., Cardinal Health and Vision Source.
