VSP Vision Care announced its top 10 eye-healthy cities in the U.S. for 2014, and Boise, Idaho; Reno, Nevada; and Oklahoma City, Okla., top the list.

To determine the rankings, VSP began analyzing data from tens of millions of 2012 claims to recognize the top cities whose residents received eye exams as part of their health care routines, according to a press release from VSP.

The 2014 rankings were determined by examining the percentage of VSP members who received an eye exam in 2013 in cities with at least 100,000 VSP members.

The top 10 list in its entirety:

  1. Boise, Idaho
  2. Reno, Nev.
  3. Oklahoma City, Okla.
  4. Huntsville, Ala.
  5. Des Moines, Iowa
  6. Colorado Springs, Colo.
  7. Birmingham, Ala.
