Alcon announces top appointments

Alcon has named Eric Bruno as the new general manager for U.S. Vision Care, after Jim Murphy was promoted to president, Alcon Japan, according to a press release.

“Eric Bruno takes a patient- and customer-centric approach to everything he does which aligns with our desire to transform eye care in the US,” Robert Warner, President for Alcon US & Canada, said in the release. “He will build on Jim Murphy’s strong legacy and help patients feel, see and look their best.”

In his most recent position, Bruno served as the global franchise head of vision care after joining the company in 2012. Before joining Alcon, he spent 16 years at Johnson & Johnson, holding several vice president positions.

“I look forward to partnering with the U.S. optometric community to continue to drive innovation to enhance sight for millions of eye care patients in the U.S.,” Bruno said in the release.
