NovaBay Pharmaceuticals Inc. announced that it has created an Optometry Advisory Board to help oversee the development, marketing and medical use of NovaBay’s i-Lid Cleanser.

The cleanser is designed to manage blepharitis and dry eye syndrome.

The four members of the board are nationally known optometrists, according to the press release: Katherine M. Mastrota, OD, center director of Omni Eye Surgery in New York; Arthur Epstein, OD, director of the Dry Eye – Ocular Surface Disease Center and director of clinical research at Phoenix Eye Care; William Townsend, OD, of Houston, Distinguished Visiting Clinician in Residence at the University of Houston College of Optometry; and Scot Morris, OD, owner and medical director of Eye Consultants of Colorado in Conifer, Colo.

“The fact that...the nation’s top optometrists have agreed to serve on our new optometry advisory board is evidence that i-Lid Cleanser is a breathtaking product that can make a real difference in patients’ lives,” Ron Najafi, PhD, chairman and CEO of NovaBay, said in the release.
