Eric Anderson has been appointed as the new chief development officer for North America for Optometry Giving Sight.

Anderson has 25 years of experience in various aspects of fundraising management, including a special emphasis on the cultivation, solicitation and stewarding of major gifts and planned giving, according to a press release from the organization.

“We are delighted to welcome Eric to this important new role, and look forward to working with him to increase our fundraising capacity in the U.S., Canada and Mexico,” Clive Miller, CEO of Optometry Giving Sight, said in the release. “There is an incredible need for additional funds to support sustainable eye and vision care programs throughout the region, and we are very pleased to have been able to attract someone with Eric’s skills and experience to help us expand our efforts.”

Under the leadership of Anderson, the organization will focus on establishing and developing optometry schools in Haiti and southern Mexico during the next several years, according to the release.
