PHILADELPHIA – Here at Optometry’s Meeting, CooperVision announced the availability of a new mobile application designed to provide U.S. consumers with useful contact lens information as well as a tool for locating a nearby optometrist.

According to a company press release, the app includes the following features: find a doctor, find a lens, lens reminder, vision and health, and products.

“The app was previously launched in the UK. And China,” Catherine Muriel, vice president of marketing, North America, CooperVision, said in the release. “Now we are expanding its availability – and its features – to consumers in the U.S.”

Through the app, patients can set up reminders for replacing lenses according to their recommended wearing schedules. They can also access information on specific conditions such as astigmatism and presbyopia.

The find a lens feature helps patients identify CooperVision lenses suited for their sports activity, computer work or travel needs.

The app is available for iOS and Android devices, company representatives told Primary Care Optometry News. – Nancy Hemphill, ELS
