J&J names Knight head of professional affairs

Johnson & Johnson stated in a press release that Millicent Knight, OD, will lead the development and implementation of the company’s professional strategy across the U.S. and Canada. She will begin her new role April 7.

Knight holds 25 years of experience in multiple areas of optometry. She began her career in a hospital-based level one trauma center for an ophthalmology and optometry practice. She also owned two optometric practices. In addition, she consulted for numerous eye and health care companies; conducted contact lens and solutions clinical trials; and lectured on contact lens, leadership, cultural sensitivity, eye and systemic health, and business and entrepreneurship. At Johnson & Johnson she served as an instructor at the Vision Care Institute and as a professional affairs consultant for Johnson & Johnson Vision Care.

Knight was selected as optometrist of the year by the National Optometric Association in 1999 and by the Illinois Optometric Association in 2012.

President of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Laura Angelini said in the release, “With her breadth of experience and commitment to professional education, Millicent is well poised to lead our North America organization in enhancing our professional strategies and capabilities and building strong partnerships within the eye care community.”
