SAN DIEGO — VisionWeb unveiled its new comprehensive cloud-based practice management and EHR solution, Uprise, at a press conference here at Optometry’s Meeting.
Uprise is the next generation in VisionWeb’s mission to make online solutions that improve day-to-day business processes more affordable and accessible for independent eye care practitioners, according to a news release.
Uprise is designed to be friendly with both tablet and PC devices, giving users freedom to choose the hardware devices most suitable for their practices, the release said.
Uprise users will have no upfront investments in hardware and servers and no long-term investments in IT infrastructure that is needed to support a client-server solution, according to the release.
“We recognized that there was a need in the practice management and EHR space for a solution that offered more accessibility, interoperability and a more enhanced workflow than ever before,” Ken Engelhart, president and CEO of VisionWeb, said in the release.
“The idea was to harness the power of the cloud and provide an integrated suite of services,” he said at the press conference. “We think we have close to a one-stop shop. Uprise is intuitive and user-friendly. We want it to be simple and comprehensive. The fewer clicks, the better.”
VisionWeb has also embedded educational video content from ECHO by Eyemaginations, product catalogs with wholesale pricing information from FramesData, and CPT and ICD-9 code process and rule verification by CodeSafe from ReimbursementPlus in Uprise, making them native to the system, the release said.
VisionWeb is HIPAA compliant and has taken all necessary measures to ensure that Uprise meets regulatory requirements for protecting the transmission and storage of patient data, according to the release.
Practitioners Kim Castleberry, OD, and Lorie Lippiatt, OD, were integral in the development of Uprise and spoke at the press conference.
“With one smart selection you can document exam findings, diagnosis with severity … it does an interpretation report and flows to the coding paired with the insurance company. You hit one button and the patient’s claim is in the clearinghouse before they hit the front door.”
Disclosures: Castleberry and Lippiatt are paid consultants for VisionWeb.
