NEW YORK – Shamir Insight Inc. announced the launch of a new free-form design lens, Shamir Autograph III, at a press conference here at Vision Expo East.

The new lens is an upgrade of Shamir Autograph II and features Shamir’s updated design software, EyePoint Technology III.

“We’re offering a different design for plus patients and minus patients that provides the same visual field for both,” a Shamir representative said during the conference.

The EyePoint software gives patients improvised viewing regardless of lens power and frame choice, the representative said.

The progressive lens is available in fitting heights of 11 mm, 13 mm, 15 mm and 18 mm, as well as a variable design. It is available in CR39, SuperLite 1.60, SuperLite 1.67, SuperLite 1.74. polycarbonate, DLC Trivex and NXT, according to a press release.
