NEW YORK — Kowa Optimed Inc. launched its new automatic perimeter, the AP-7000, here at Vision Expo East.

The perimeter has a p-value program to show the probability value in a shorter time, a database with more than 600 results for comparison and kinetic and fundus-oriented perimetry. The AP-7000 is also equipped with analytical indices in line with the guidelines for glaucoma, according to a press release.

The perimeter will also have the benefit of DigiVersal software that manages images across different diagnostic devices once the software is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Currently, it is still being analyzed by the FDA, according to Craig Ross, president and chief operating officer of Kowa.

With DigiVersal, the images can be converged and viewed in a single file on a single screen. The images can also be searched, viewed and organized on one platform by connecting practices and locations with the electronic medical records software, Ross said.
