NEW YORK — Essilor of America announced at a press conference here at Vision Expo East that the new Crizal Prevencia No-Glare lenses will launch in the U.S. later this year.

The lenses will protect against UV rays with an eye-sun protection factor of 25. The lenses will also protect against exposure to blue light through the Light Scan technology. Blue light can have a harmful effect on the retina in the range of 415 nm to 455 nm, as determined by Essilor and the Paris Vision Institute, according to a press release.

The lenses also protect against glare, scratches, smudges, dust and water, the release said.
