NEW YORK — VSP announced that it has expanded its Unity lens portfolio with the PLxpression progressive lenses with Cascade Technology here at Vision Expo East.

The lenses combine the Cascade Technology, which uses base curve technology for a curved front surface, a backside freeform design and the patient’s position-of-wear measurements, according to VSP Optics representative Dave Delle Donne.

Cascade Technology boasts an intrinsic power gain that is designed to fully optimize viewing zones and enhance visual performance, Delle Donne said in an interview with Primary Care Optometry News.

The lenses are currently available in CR-39, CR-39 Transitions, CR-39 polarized, polycarbonate, polycarbonate Transitions and polycarbonate polarized, Delle Donne said, and will be available in high-index Trivex, Trivex Transitions and Trivex polarized materials on March 27.
