NEW YORK – Vision Expo East will provide the setting for a live broadcast of “The Power Hour” with Gary Gerber, OD, Chief Dream Officer at the Power Practice, sponsored by Essilor of America, this Saturday, 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., according to an International Vision Expo & Conference press release.

Gerber will broadcast the show from the Medical & Scientific Theater in the Jacob Javits Convention Center.

“The Power Hour” will be a discussion that focuses on what can be done to reduce the influx of private practices that are closing their doors, the release said.

During the live broadcast, attendees and listeners will hear from a young doctor who went through the steps to finance his practice, as well as an established practice owner who is now in the process of transitioning his practice for sale, said the release.

Also joining the show will be Bob Schultz, president and chief executive officer of Vision One Credit Union, and Howard Purcell, OD, FAAO, vice president of customer development for Essilor of America, who will both discuss their respective company’s commitments to ensuring practices continue to operate profitably while helping to reduce the number of practices failing, according to the release.

The show is a vehicle for current practice-building events in optometry, political viewpoints and clinical topics, the release said. For more information, go to www.powerhour.info.
