The Vision Council inducted its 2013 officers and board of directors during its annual executive summit, according to a council press release.

Raanan Naftalovich, a past chair of the Vision Council’s Lens Division, Finance Committee and Statistics Committee, was named the new chairman and will be joined by Martin Bassett of Walman Optical as vice-chairman, Dick Russo of Safilo as secretary/treasurer and Jamie Shyer of Zyloware Eyewear as immediate past chairman.

Also elected were directors at large Doug Hepper of Vision Ease for the Lens Division, Claudio Gottardi of Marchon for the Eyewear & Accessories Division, John Corsini of Super Systems for the Lens Processing Technology Division and Andrea Dorigo of Luxottica for the Eyewear & Accessories Division, the release said.

In the coming weeks, the board will be reviewing the results document from its December 2012 strategic planning session and delegating tasks to the appropriate committees for implementation.
