Eye Solutions unveils blue light blocking eyeglass lenses

LAS VEGAS — Eye Solutions Inc. introduced its new Blu-Tech Lenses, an eyeglass lens that blocks harmful wavelengths of blue and ultraviolet light, at a press conference here at Vision Expo West.
The lens was created in response to growing evidence that constant blue and UV light exposure increases the risk of eyes developing age-related macular degeneration.
“We are exposed to more high-energy blue light both indoors and out than ever before,” Eye Solutions Chief Operating Officer David Israel said in a company press release. “Blu-Tech lenses provide the protection needed to guard the macula from oxidative stress and a lifetime of exposure from damaging blue light.”
Blu-Tech lenses also maintain natural color vision and improve contrast sensitivity, the release said.
