RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — VSP Global announced Jim McGrann as new president of VSP Vision Care, effective Jan. 1, succeeding Gary Brooks, who will retire after 33 years with the company, according to a company press release.

Mr. McGrann currently serves as VSP Global Chief Technology Officer, a role he will continue in the interim. He is also chief executive officer of Eyefinity. He joined VSP Global in 2008 from Marchon, where he had been senior vice president and chief information officer, the release said.

"Although Mr. Brooks' leadership and understanding of the vision care industry will be missed, Mr. McGrann has proven to be an exceptional leader," VSP Global CEO Rob Lynch said in the release. "His laser-sharp focus will ensure that VSP continues to win contracts, connect patients to private practice and support the growth of private practice in this shifting landscape."
