Transitions expands educational product offerings for ODs
SALT LAKE CITY Here at Optometry's Meeting, Transitions Optical introduced a pair of patient education products for eye care professionals, the "Eye Didn't Know That!" website and the "Creating a Comfortable Eye care Experience for Your Diverse Patients" seminar.
The updated "Eye Didn't Know That!" website (www.EyeDidntKnowThat.info) offers complimentary posters, fun resources for kids and classroom curriculum that can be shared with teachers to educate students about eye health.
Developed in conjunction with optical industry partners and education experts, the educational program is designed to help eye care professionals further connect with their communities by promoting the importance of healthy sight. The Resource Center includes an expanding variety of materials that can help optical staff educate parents and young patients including lesson plans, fact sheets, checklists and brochures.
The 50-minute "Creating a Comfortable Eye care Experience for Your Diverse Patients" seminar provides strategies that eye doctors can implement in their practices during each stage of the eye care experience - pre-visit outreach, reception, eye exam, dispensary and follow-up - to enhance patient communication and demonstrate their commitment to culturally appropriate vision care. The course has been submitted for COPE approval and can also be downloaded at Transitions.com/PRO.
