ATLANTA – Optos announced its new 200 Dx and V2 Vantage Pro Software (v2.6) at the annual SECO 2011 meeting.

The hardware and software advancements include retinal nerve fiber layer/polarization, circular from linear, laser focus improvement, brighter images and superior field illumination, and a new-and-improved patient interface. Additionally, software enhancements include historical image overlay to compare current Optomap examination with previous archived information and the ability to e-mail patients a 3D Wrap video of their Optomap image, according to a company press release.

“The 200Dx and V2 Vantage Pro Software (v2.6) deliver enhanced clinical information and tools to detect pathology and monitor changes in the retina over time. The new video capabilities with 3D Wrap allow us even more ways to share our findings with patients, resulting in better education and practice building,” Kristen Brown, OD, FAAO, New England College of Optometry, said in the press release.
