Optos introduces more compact retinal imaging device
BOSTON Optos unveiled Daytona, the newest member of its ultra-widefield retinal imaging devices family, here at Academy 2011 Boston.
Daytona is comparable to the P200C's image quality and offers a range of premium features including new cutting edge options such as ultra-widefield auto-fluorescence and a 200? view of the retina in a single capture, according to a company press release. Other notable features include an ergonomic body weighing 60 pounds, an improved user interface with workflow-based software, plug-and-play installation, image review capabilities and electronic storage options for future comparisons.
Leslie C. M. Amodei, Optos director of global marketing, told PRIMARY CARE OPTOMETRY NEWS that Optos will begin shipping the product at the end of the first quarter of 2012.
Also, the U.S. launch of Daytona will be augmented by the launch of a new microsite to aid practitioners at optosnextgen.com.
