LAS VEGAS – Here at Vision Expo West, Vincent Zuccaro, OD, president of Optical Connection Inc., announced the formation of Shine Optical Group. Optical Connection, based in San Jose, Calif., will oversee Shine Optical’s worldwide operations outside of Taiwan, where the group’s sales, marketing and distribution centers are located. The company will offer a patented aberration-control product in single vision, toric, multifocal and toric multifocal lenses. In a press conference at Vision Expo, Dr. Zuccaro said the Shine Optical hopes to launch a daily disposable aberration-control lens in mid-2003. Johnson Chou is president of the Taiwan facility. Dr. Zuccaro, formerly of UltraVision Corp., is joined by fellow UltraVision alumni Kevin Bligh as senior vice president of sales and marketing; Jerry Sustakovitch as vice president, key account sales for North America; and Sandra Zuccaro-Keyes, heading the group’s customer and professional services departments. Malcolm McLaughlin is the group’s CFO and senior vice president of finance.
