LAS VEGAS — Kowa Optimed Inc. announced here at the International Vision Expo and Conference that it has teamed up with Optovue Inc. and Lumenis Ltd. to form the AZ-Alliance, a coalition to bring their resources together for a connectivity solution that offers eye care professionals access to simultaneous image viewing and significant savings on the purchase of best-in-class product suites from any of the alliance members.

This means a greater access to educational seminars across the country on topics such as diagnosis, treatment and charting, according to the press release.

"We are actively pursuing strategic partnerships with a number of key industry innovators to expand the breadth of our solutions for our valued clients within key technology platforms," Craig Ross, president and chief operating officer of Kowa Optimed, said in a company press release.

Kowa also announced at the press conference that its 2D/3D nonmydriatic retinal camera, the nonmyd WX3D, has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval.
