LAS VEGAS – Kowa introduced activeEHR, a comprehensive software system that offers eye care practitioners image management, e-prescribing, workflow management and a Web browser.

Company spokespeople told Primary Care Optometry News during International Vision Expo West that activeEHR is a standardized eye care package that offers a turnkey solution but is also customizable.

Draw-It is a graphics package that enables doctors to make annotations within the electronic health record. Eyesend is image software that transfers files from office to office.

Kowa spokespeople also shared information on a new nonmydriatic retinal camera awaiting approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The Kowa nonmyd Wx 3D offers both two-dimensional and three-dimensional imaging of the optic disc and features simultaneous stereoscopic photography.
