LAS VEGAS — Reichert Technologies introduced three of its new devices here at the International Vision Expo and Conference: the iPac handheld pachymeter, the ClearChart2 digital acuity system and the Auto Phoroptor RS auto refraction system.

The iPac pachymeter features Bluetooth wireless connectivity, one-button control, a rotating color LCD display, a rechargeable lithium ion battery, an intuitive user interface, an ergonomic design, a 3-year warranty and ADA eligibility, according to a company press release.

The pachymeter also features a measurement range of 200 microns to 1000 microns, an accuracy of ± 5 microns, a resolution of 1 micron and a total handheld weight of only 3.53 oz, the release said.

The ClearChart2 features a 19-inch LCD display, random sequencing, contrast acuity, sine-wave grating contrast sensitivity testing, cartoon loop with sound for pediatric fixation, an adjustable red/green for refraction system compatibility, a range of optotypes and tests and a configuration for direct or mirrored viewing. It also complies with ETDRS protocol, according to the release.

The Phoroptor RS features a compact design; an ultra slim lens profile; prism lenses that slide in manually to minimize the width of the lens aperture; an eye height adjustment; polarized, Maddox and selectable retinoscopy lenses; connectivity with a wide range of lensmeters and autorefractors; and a compatibility with EMR systems. It also functions as both a plus and minus cylinder phoropter with the ability to change cylinder preference mid-exam, the release said.
