Alcon launches new multipurpose solution

FORT WORTH, Texas — Alcon announced the launch of its new contact lens solution, Opti-Free PureMoist Multi-Purpose, according to a company press release.

Opti-Free PureMoist contains the wetting agent HydraGlyde Moisture Matrix [EOBO-poly (oxyethylene)-poly (oxybutylene)], which has the ability to provide 16 hours of lens wettability, the company says.

HydraGlyde Moisture Matrix, a scientifically advanced proprietary synthetic block copolymer, embeds itself on and within the lens surface to reduce surface and bulk hydrophobicity and improve the hydrophilic properties of silicone hydrogel lenses, according to the release.

Opti-Free PureMoist also continues to maintain the strong antimicrobial efficacy associated with its dual disinfectant system, Polyquad and Aldox, with EDTA (edetate disodium), improving overall activity against microorganisms, the release said.
