OLA, Vision Council join forces
ALEXANDRA, Va. – The Optical Laboratories Association and the Vision Council have announced their joint affiliation in a press release issued by the Vision Council.
According to the release, the Optical Laboratories Association (OLA) is the new Laboratory Division of the Vision Council, and activities of both associations will be combined to benefit all of their members. The OLA will now represent one of six operating divisions within the Vision Council that “provide guidance, education programs, marketing materials, research and advocacy outreach to address common interests among members,” the release stated.
This affiliation results from an 18-month long period of discussions between the two groups. OLA members were surveyed and an open forum was held during the group’s 2009 annual meeting to discuss the issue, and the results were positive, the press release stated.
