Intranasal endoscopic technique offers advantages over external approach
ALBANY, N.Y. — Patients with epiphora secondary to canalicular stenosis can be effectively treated with the intranasal endoscopic technique for conjunctivodacryocystorhinostomy (CDCR) with Jones tube placement, according to a study that compared the newer technique to the traditional external approach with a medial canthal incision.
Radiosurgery can be useful in the treatment of basal cell carcinoma of the eyelids
Basal cell carcinoma is a malignant tumor derived from cells of the basal cell layer of the epidermis. The etiology of basal cell carcinoma is linked to excessive ultraviolet light exposure in fair-skinned individuals. Other predisposing factors include ionizing radiation and scars. While metastases are rare, local invasion is common and can be very destructive.

Case study: intracranial epidermoid cyst causing unilateral proptosis
The following case describes the unusual presentation of an intracranial epidermoid cyst, presenting as unilateral proptosis. To the best of our knowledge, this has not been previously described in the medical literature.

Myectomy provides best functional surgical improvement for blepharospasm
After experiencing recurrence in nearly all cases with limited myectomies, I became more and more aggressive with muscle removal and developed a technique that I termed the full myectomy, where nearly all of the squeezing muscles of the upper eyelids were removed (Figures 2, 3). This included the pretarsal orbicularis, the preseptal orbicularis, the orbital orbicularis, and the corrugator supercilia and procerus muscles between the brows. These muscles were removed through a brow incision and an eyelid crease incision. This operation first was published in 1981.
