Contact lens disinfectant proves effective in early tests
DENVER — In a stand-alone test conducted under U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidelines, a Ceragenin-based contact lens disinfectant solution eradicated five strains of bacteria and fungi within 1.5 hours, according to a press release from Ceragenix, the solution's developer.
Contact lens survey finds more than half of participants dissatisfied with lenses
A survey of 453 contact lens users found that more than half of respondents were dissatisfied with their lenses or had already stopped wearing them. Dryness and discomfort were the most common self-reported reasons for lens dissatisfaction and discontinuation, followed by preference for another corrective method, according to the study.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. Bausch & Lomb has recalled 12 lots of its ReNu MultiPlus solution after discovering elevated levels of trace iron, according to a press release from the company.
